About Me: Julia Perry
I have been helping individuals and families through difficult times since 1998. I began offering therapy and counseling in the community of Duvall in 2007 when I moved here from Oregon.
I earned a Bachelors degree in NeuroPsychology from Reed College and a Masters Degree in Depth Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. I am Licensed by the State of Washington as both a Mental Health Counselor #LC 60137396 and a Chemical Dependency Counselor #CP 00006444.
Since 1998 I have enjoyed practicing counseling as both a Mental Health Counselor and as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at outpatient office settings, residential treatment centers, Wilderness Therapy programs and therapeutic boarding schools. All of this experience has added to my eclectic bag of therapeutic tools and approaches.
I use solid evidence based practices such as CBT, ACT, MBCT, IFS, DBT, and EMDR to help with depression, anxiety, trauma and life transitions. I also have specialized training and experience using Mindfulness Skills, Sand Tray, Art therapy and Dreamwork with interested clients. I believe that art and symbols allow us to understand, process, and communicate in ways that speech sometimes can not.
When therapeutically appropriate I provide Psychedelic Assisted Therapy consultation, preparation, and integration sessions. I am a Certified Psychedelic Assisted Therapy Provider (PATP) through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute (IPI)along with additional trainings through the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS).
Working in a small town, I have privilege and joy to work with clients of all ages and a wide variety of issues. However, I do have particular interest in supporting people during times of life transition. Early in my career I worked with teens & young adults in wilderness therapy, inpatient and outpatient settings including serving the community of Duvall as the Senior Counselor at Friends of Youth for many years. While I continue working with young adults, During the last 14+ years I feel grateful for the privilege of supporting Adults & Seniors navigating major life changes, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and end of life care.
